Divine Intervention (Divine series) von Cheryl Kayne Tardif
CFBI agent Jasmine McLellan leads a psychically gifted team in the hunt for a serial arsonist―a murderer who has already taken the lives of three people.
Jasi and her team members―Psychometric Empath and profiler Ben Roberts and Victim Empath Natassia Prushenko―are joined by Brandon Walsh, the handsome but skeptical Chief of Arson Investigations. In a manhunt that takes them from Vancouver to Kelowna, Penticton and Victoria, they are led down a twisting path of sinister secrets.
Sifting through ashes and clues, Jasi realizes that there is more to the third victim than meets the eye. Perhaps not all of the victims were that innocent. The hunt intensifies when she learns that someone they know is next on the arsonist’s list.
Unleashing her gift as a Pyro-Psychic, Jasi is compelled toward smoldering ashes and enters the killer’s mind―a mind bent on destruction and revenge. And in the heat of early summer, Jasi discovers that a murderer lies in wait…much closer than she ever imagined.

With the help of his friend Cindy and others, Max must quickly learn the necessary skills to survive if he is to avoid the deadly trap that has been planned for him and his grandfather. The Weight of Glass von Stuart Heatherington
Hidden in Amy Macon’s memoir, as much a mystery as a survival guide for a torturous childhood, is the need to stitch together the fabric of a family’s dark history. Her brother, Lee Macon, can’t forget waking up inside his mother’s coffin or the memory of the man who put him there. That’s a secret he’s kept from Amy for 30 years.
But if there’s one thing they understand, it’s out of a houseful of children, only two of them remain alive. Now, in the wake of their youngest sister’s murder, Amy must have the truth, knowing it will ease the scars brought on by time, if not the ones carved in her wrists. In this, Lee finds himself blindsided by a sister’s resolve, drawn up by the corners of a broken heart and forced to share what, as a boy, he so desperately fought to conceal. Problem is no one said it would be easy digging up the dead. It never is. Sifting through the bones of the past, means piecing together the mystery of a family long buried in violence.
A provocative novel of literary/suspense, The Weight of Glass is a story of a family’s struggle with revenge in the wake of tragedy.
The Squirrel That Dreamt Of Madness von Craig Stone
What if you listened to that voice in your head telling you to walk out of your job? What if you listened to that first voice and another voice was telling you to go and live in a park? What if you listened to both voices and ended up one night sitting on a park bench, now unemployed, with two bags at your feet in the middle of a park and no idea what you are doing?
Well, that’s what I did.
This is the story of the story I made up whilst trying to keep my sanity alone in a park.
There is the park-keeper (of course) but he’s a midget with anger control issues. Then there’s Moonface, the fat disabled man that lives up trees and refuses to come down because he believes the floor will bite him. The floor won’t, he just has broken ankles from escaping from hospital. There’s Madness the Parrot, who everyone needs to catch for their own reasons, an animal killer called Dorangel Vargas and Matt the carer of Moonface who seems reasonable but gave me “the lying fat bastard unicorn” look and so these days I can’t say I fully trust him.
There’s PC Whirled the police officer with the unfortunate name that I can’t really make fun out of because my name is Colossus Sosloss.
And this is my story. Written by me Craig Stone, a guy that wasn’t homeless that made himself so, and invented me to escape a pretty terrible reality.
On the Soul of a Vampire (On the Soul series) von Krisi Keley
For some it takes a lifetime to discover their raison d’être. Imagine searching for eight centuries. In 1997 Philadelphia, 800 year old vampire Valéry Castellane comes face to face with his reason to be, in the person of Angelina Lacroix, a young mortal woman whose understanding of immortality is about to change all he’s known as truth and which will take him, and his readers, on a journey into the human soul. Discovering a mortal who not only senses his presence, but also somehow knows his name, Valéry becomes obsessed with solving the mystery of how this might be.
Confronting the girl, after learning she has knowledge of his entire existence, he is stunned and frustrated when Angelina seems more intent on convincing him that he’s not the soulless monster of myth than she is with providing an explanation. Unable to take her life or give her immortality, Valéry embarks on a journey with Angelina that doesn’t only take them from Philadelphia to his childhood home in the Provençal Alps, but on a journey into his greatest hopes and dreams, fears and disappointments, and into the strange and frightening past that shaped him.
A novel about faltering faith and never-ending hope, On the Soul of a Vampire will not only alter everything you think you know about vampires, it will change the way you see your very soul.
Breath of Air (The Dryad Quartet) von Katie Jennings
Her name was Capri, and she was Air. She was born with a gift she didn’t understand. A gift so strange, so remarkable that she had kept it secret for as long as she could remember, despising that it made her different when all she wanted was to be normal, to belong. As an orphan, belonging to someone, anyone, would have been an incredible blessing, one she would have given up all that she had just to get a taste of.
But the truth was that she didn’t belong in the orphanage in Virginia, or even in the United States. In fact, she didn’t belong with human beings at all. Because she wasn’t one of them, not really. She was something much more extraordinary.
She could shift the direction of the wind, create billowing clouds out of nothing, and charm birds into dancing on her open palm. She belonged to an elite group of beings, responsible for preserving the balance of nature and the safety of Earth from an underworld that deserved to be feared, and needed to be controlled. And after years of being lost, she had at last been found, and now the truth of how she had ended up so far from home was becoming horribly clear to her.
But there’s someone who doesn’t want her to return; someone who knows Capri was the only witness to an act of heinous treason and violent murder. And when she begins to search her memories for details of the night she was taken from her home, details that will implicate a killer, she finds herself the unwary target of an otherworldly dark force intent on silencing her by any means possible.
Devil’s Lair von David Wisehart
Devil’s Lair is an epic fantasy set in Dante’s Inferno.
A medieval knight leads a quest through Hell to recover the Holy Grail from the Devil. The knight, Marco da Roma, is joined by: Giovanni Boccaccio, an expert on Dante; William of Ockham, an English friar; and Nadja, an epileptic with the gift of prophecy. As the Black Death sweeps through Europe, these unlikely heroes confront the Devil–and their own demons–to forestall the Apocalypse.
If you’re a fan of George R.R. Martin and J.R.R. Tolkien, you’ll love Devil’s Lair.
Murder of Crows (The Pillars of Dawn) von Athena
Fable Montgomery is the Muse of Story.
Fourteen years ago she gave up her home, her memories, and the man she loved, to prevent a new Dark Age. Yet when her beloved aunt is murdered, the fate of two worlds rests on Fable’s ability to recover the memories she worked so hard to destroy.
Fable returns to the land of myth and magic, a place called Aria. A world that has been waiting fourteen long years for her to fulfill the promises she’s forgotten she made.
In a surge of power she writes the Prophecy of Crows, a 240 page manuscript of the future arc. But before she can read it, all but thirteen of the pages are stolen by a murder of crows. With only thirteen pages to guide her through the story, Fable must rediscover her power of inspiration, because the last page of prophecy foretells her death.
And if the Muse of Story dies…all stories die with her.
Mindbenders von Ted Krever
If you could hear the thoughts of every person for three blocks around-the regrets, rationalizations, commercial jingles, the lies that hide what they can’t bear to think–how could you ever trust anyone? And if you could make them believe anything you wanted, how could you ever trust yourself?
Max Renn is a legend of the Soviet mind control program, a genetic experiment, the product of three generations of psychics bred by the state for their power. Before his first mission, the Soviet Union collapses and he disappears.
We meet him twenty years later in the Everglades, keeping as far from people as he can get, until his best friend-his only friend-is murdered and he is forced to assemble a team of people like him to fight the international conspiracy behind the murder.
